Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you work with Careers Expert Group. Effective October 23, 2026.
These terms apply to the services provided by Careers Expert Group Pty Ltd, an Australian company trading as Careers Expert Group (“we,” “us,” “our”), to clients in Canada, and to your use of this website. By booking or paying for a service, you agree to them. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable law, including provincial consumer protection law, that cannot be waived or excluded.
1. Our services
We provide executive career services through four programs: Executive Profile, Executive Brand, Executive Strategy and Executive Transition, which includes six months of active support. Interview coaching and application support are available as add-ons. You work with one dedicated Executive Transition Coach, and your documents are written from scratch. What is included in your program is set out in your written proposal and confirmed with you before you start. Interview coaching is delivered by video.
Your free resume assessment and initial consultation are provided free of charge and without obligation. You do not have to buy anything as a result of them.
2. What we cannot promise
We work to improve how you are positioned and how you reach the market, but hiring decisions are made by employers, boards and search firms, not by us. We do not guarantee employment, interviews, a job offer, a particular salary or any other specific outcome. Any market information, opportunities or introductions we share are given in good faith and may change.
We will not approach a search firm, employer, board or recruiter on your behalf, or share your documents with them, without your agreement.
3. Your part
The quality of our work depends on the information you give us. You are responsible for making sure that everything you provide, including your employment history, job titles, dates, qualifications and achievements, is accurate and complete. You also agree to attend scheduled sessions and to give feedback on drafts promptly. If you need to reschedule a session, please give us at least 24 hours' notice. You are responsible for checking that your final documents are accurate before you use them. If you ask us to depart from our professional advice, we will do so, but we cannot be responsible for the outcome.
4. Timeframes
Timeframes we give, such as delivering first drafts within three business days of your consultation, are targets rather than guarantees, and they start once we have the information we need from you. We aim to complete revisions within one business day of your request. If you are working to an application deadline, please engage us at least ten business days beforehand. We are not responsible for missed application deadlines.
5. Fees and payment
Our fees are as set out in your written proposal or quote and on your invoice, and are charged in Canadian dollars. Payment is due in full when you book, unless your proposal says otherwise. The Executive Transition program may be paid as an initial payment followed by monthly instalments, as set out in your proposal, charged to your nominated card or account on the due dates. Applicable sales taxes are added only where required by law.
If a scheduled installment fails, we may pause your program until it is paid. If we make a billing error, we will refund the amount overcharged in full as soon as we become aware of it.
6. Revisions and changing coach
Revisions are unlimited within your program: your Executive Transition Coach will revise your documents until you are satisfied with them. If you are unhappy with your coach, please tell us and, where we agree it is warranted, we will assign a different coach at no extra cost. Timeframes restart so your new coach can get up to speed.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Our services are tailored to you: you are paying for an expert's time, not a finished product. You can cancel by telling us in writing at support@careersexpert.com. Refunds work as follows:
- if you cancel before work on your program has started, we will refund what you have paid in full;
- if you cancel after work has started, we will refund what you have paid, less the value of the work completed and the coaching sessions already held, which we will explain to you;
- once your final documents have been delivered, the program fee for that work is not refundable.
For the Executive Transition program, you can cancel the remaining monthly support by giving us at least 7 days' written notice. No further installments will be charged after the notice period ends, and installments already paid for support delivered are not refundable.
We will not refund fees because a deadline was missed, an application was unsuccessful, or you chose not to use the documents or advice we provided. Nothing in this section limits any refund rights you have under applicable law that cannot be waived.
8. Confidentiality
We treat your career plans, documents and the details of your search as confidential, and we do not share them without your permission unless the law requires it. We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.
9. Ownership of documents
Once you have paid in full, you own the final documents we write for you and may use them for your own personal career purposes. Our methods, templates, frameworks and website content remain our intellectual property and may not be copied or used commercially without our written permission.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the fees you have paid us for those services, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of income or opportunity. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability or right that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
11. Complaints
If something is not right, please contact us in writing at support@careersexpert.com or call 1-888-611-0446. We aim to respond within two business days and to resolve complaints fairly and promptly.
12. Using this website
The content on this website is general information, not personal career, legal or financial advice. You may use it for your own information only. 13. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page when you book applies to your service. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of Ontario, except where the law of your province or territory of residence gives you rights that cannot be waived.
